Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you and United Martial Arts Group LLC, a Georgia limited liability company operating the Global Martial Arts Council membership program (“GMAC,” “United Martial Arts Group,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

These Terms govern your access to and use of:

  • www.memberships.gmacglobal.org;
  • related GMAC websites, membership portals, applications, and online services;
  • memberships offered under the Global Martial Arts Council name;
  • GMAC directories, credentials, certifications, educational materials, events, and member benefits; and
  • any other service that links to these Terms.

Collectively, these are the “Services.”

Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account, purchasing or renewing a membership, clicking a button indicating acceptance, or otherwise using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not create an account, purchase a membership, or use the Services.

1. Contracting Party

United Martial Arts Group LLC operates the Global Martial Arts Council membership program, provides the memberships described through the Services, and collects the applicable membership fees.

Your membership agreement is with United Martial Arts Group LLC. “Global Martial Arts Council” and “GMAC” are used in these Terms to identify the membership program and Services operated by United Martial Arts Group LLC.

Charges for GMAC memberships may appear on your payment-card or bank statement under the name “United Martial Arts Group LLC,” “United Martial Arts Group,” “UMAG,” “GMAC,” or another billing descriptor disclosed at checkout.

2. Eligibility and Authority

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to purchase a membership or create an account.

If you use the Services on behalf of a martial-arts school, academy, club, association, company, or other organization, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms. In that case, “you” includes both you and the organization.

A parent or legal guardian must complete any registration involving a minor. A minor may not independently purchase a membership or accept these Terms.

The Services are not available to anyone whose membership has been suspended or terminated unless United Martial Arts Group provides prior written authorization.

3. Memberships

United Martial Arts Group may offer individual, instructor, school, academy, club, organizational, official, promoter, or other membership categories under the Global Martial Arts Council name.

The eligibility requirements, dues, billing interval, membership term, and benefits for each category will be disclosed during enrollment or on the applicable membership page.

Depending on the membership selected, benefits may include:

  • access to member-only content and resources;
  • membership cards, certificates, digital badges, or other credentials;
  • member or school directory listings;
  • educational and professional-development resources;
  • eligibility for designated programs or events;
  • member discounts;
  • recognition or certification services; and
  • other benefits identified during enrollment.

United Martial Arts Group may add, modify, replace, or discontinue particular membership benefits. If a change materially reduces the core benefits of a paid membership during its current term, we will provide reasonable notice and any remedy required by applicable law.

Membership does not create an employment, agency, partnership, franchise, fiduciary, or joint-venture relationship between you and United Martial Arts Group.

We do not guarantee that membership will result in employment, students, customers, revenue, insurance eligibility, licensing, regulatory approval, event participation, or acceptance by another organization.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, a GMAC membership, certificate, credential, or recognition is not a government license, academic degree, or authorization to engage in a regulated occupation.

4. Applications and Member Information

You agree to provide complete, current, and accurate information during registration and throughout your membership.

United Martial Arts Group may reasonably request documentation to verify your:

  • identity;
  • age;
  • school or organizational affiliation;
  • martial-arts rank or experience;
  • qualifications or certifications;
  • authority to act for an organization; or
  • eligibility for a membership category or benefit.

You authorize United Martial Arts Group to review submitted information and documentation for these purposes.

We may approve, deny, condition, suspend, or revoke a membership when reasonably necessary to:

  • enforce these Terms or another disclosed GMAC policy;
  • protect members, students, participants, or the public;
  • address materially false, incomplete, or misleading information;
  • respond to suspected fraud, abuse, misconduct, or safety concerns;
  • comply with applicable law; or
  • protect the integrity of GMAC memberships and credentials.

We will not discriminate on any basis prohibited by applicable law.

5. Accounts and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity conducted through your account.

You agree to:

  • use only your own account;
  • maintain accurate contact and billing information;
  • use a reasonably secure password;
  • promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access; and
  • take reasonable precautions when using a shared device.

You may not sell, transfer, share, or sublicense your account or membership without our written authorization.

Contact us at info@gmacglobal.org if you believe your account has been compromised. We are not responsible for losses caused by your failure to safeguard your account, except to the extent applicable law provides otherwise.

6. Dues, Charges, and Payment Authorization

Membership prices, billing intervals, and applicable charges will be disclosed before you complete a purchase.

By providing a payment method, you represent that you are authorized to use it. You authorize United Martial Arts Group and its payment processors to charge that payment method for:

  • the membership dues shown at checkout;
  • applicable taxes;
  • separately authorized purchases; and
  • recurring renewal charges if you select an automatically renewing membership.

You are responsible for any bank, card-issuer, currency-conversion, overdraft, or similar fee imposed by a third party.

If a payment is declined, reversed, or remains unpaid, we may:

  • retry the payment as permitted by law;
  • request another payment method;
  • suspend access to membership benefits;
  • withhold or deactivate membership credentials; or
  • terminate the membership.

You remain responsible for valid unpaid charges.

We may correct billing errors. If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact info@gmacglobal.org promptly and, when practicable, within 60 days after the charge appears.

7. Automatic Renewal

This section applies only to a membership identified during checkout as automatically renewing.

Before obtaining your billing information, we will disclose the material renewal terms, including:

  • the amount you will be charged or how the charge will be calculated;
  • the billing frequency;
  • the initial membership term;
  • the renewal term;
  • whether a promotional price will change;
  • the cancellation method and deadline; and
  • material refund restrictions.

By affirmatively selecting an automatically renewing membership and accepting the renewal disclosure, you authorize United Martial Arts Group to charge your selected payment method at the beginning of each renewal period until you cancel.

Unless the checkout disclosure states otherwise, an automatically renewing membership will renew for successive periods equal to the original membership term.

We will provide any renewal reminder or price-change notice required by applicable law. A price-change notice will identify the new price and when it becomes effective.

How to Cancel Automatic Renewal

You may cancel automatic renewal by:

  • contacting info@gmacglobal.org.

The cancellation process will not require steps that are unreasonably difficult compared with the enrollment process.

Cancellation must be completed before the next renewal charge to prevent that charge. We will provide an electronic confirmation after processing the cancellation.

Cancellation stops future renewals. Unless applicable law or the refund policy below provides otherwise, cancellation does not retroactively refund an authorized charge already incurred. Membership benefits will generally continue until the end of the paid membership term.

Deleting an account, removing a payment method, or stopping use of the Services does not by itself cancel automatic renewal.

8. Non-Renewing Memberships

If a membership is identified at checkout as non-renewing, it will expire at the end of its stated term unless you affirmatively purchase another term.

We will not convert a non-renewing membership into an automatically renewing membership without your express informed consent.

9. Refund Policy

Except where applicable law requires otherwise, membership dues and fees are subject to the following policy:

Initial membership dues may be refunded if a written cancellation request is received within 14 days after purchase, provided the member has not used a membership credential, received a certification or personalized service, attended a restricted event, downloaded restricted materials, or received another substantial nonrecoverable benefit. Renewal charges are nonrefundable after the renewal date except where required by law or where United Martial Arts Group determines that a billing error occurred.

Approved refunds will ordinarily be returned to the original payment method. Processing times may depend on the payment provider.

Nothing in these Terms limits a cancellation, refund, or consumer-protection right that cannot lawfully be waived.

You should contact us before initiating a chargeback concerning an ordinary billing disagreement so that we have an opportunity to investigate. This does not limit your right to dispute an unauthorized or erroneous charge with your financial institution.

10. Membership Credentials and Directory Listings

Membership cards, certificates, badges, seals, directory listings, rank recognitions, and similar credentials are subject to our eligibility and usage requirements.

Unless we expressly authorize otherwise:

  • credentials are personal to the named member;
  • credentials may not be transferred, sold, altered, or reproduced;
  • credentials may not be used after expiration, suspension, or revocation;
  • membership may not be described as governmental approval or professional licensure;
  • GMAC logos and badges may be used only in the authorized form; and
  • all directory information must be accurate and current.

You must promptly stop displaying an expired, suspended, or revoked credential when requested.

We may correct or remove inaccurate or misleading directory information.

A GMAC membership, directory listing, certificate, credential, or recognition does not constitute a warranty or guarantee of a member’s character, qualifications, services, safety, legal compliance, or suitability for a particular purpose.

11. Member Conduct

You agree not to use the Services, your membership, or your association with GMAC to:

  • violate any applicable law or regulation;
  • engage in fraud, harassment, threats, discrimination, abuse, exploitation, or deceptive conduct;
  • misrepresent your identity, qualifications, rank, experience, authority, membership status, or organizational affiliation;
  • falsely imply endorsement by United Martial Arts Group or GMAC;
  • infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
  • distribute malicious software or interfere with the Services;
  • collect or use member information without authorization;
  • send spam or unauthorized commercial solicitations;
  • evade membership restrictions or disciplinary actions;
  • compromise the safety or welfare of students, minors, participants, or members; or
  • use a GMAC name, logo, certificate, badge, or credential in connection with unlawful or materially unethical activity.

Members who teach, coach, officiate, promote events, or operate schools remain independently responsible for:

  • appropriate instruction and supervision;
  • student and participant safety;
  • safeguarding practices;
  • legally required background checks;
  • insurance coverage;
  • permits and licenses;
  • facility and equipment safety;
  • emergency procedures; and
  • compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

12. Martial-Arts and Physical-Activity Disclaimer

Martial arts, combat sports, self-defense training, fitness activities, and related events involve inherent risks, including serious injury, permanent disability, and death.

The Services, membership materials, and general educational content do not constitute individualized medical, legal, safety, or professional advice. We do not represent that a particular technique, training method, exercise, instructor, school, or event is suitable for a particular person.

You should consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning or changing a physical-training program. Training should occur with appropriate supervision, facilities, equipment, safeguards, and emergency procedures.

These Terms are not an assumption-of-risk agreement or participant waiver for a particular class, tournament, seminar, examination, event, or physical activity. Separate event or participation agreements may apply.

13. Child Safety and Safeguarding

Members who work with minors are independently responsible for complying with applicable child-protection, mandatory-reporting, background-check, supervision, and safeguarding requirements.

A GMAC membership does not mean that United Martial Arts Group has conducted a criminal background check or verified a member’s suitability to work with minors unless we expressly state otherwise in writing.

Anyone who believes a child is in immediate danger should contact emergency services or the appropriate government authority. Reports may also be submitted to info@gmacglobal.org, but reporting a matter to us does not replace any legally required report to public authorities.

14. Intellectual Property

The Services and their content—including the GMAC name, logos, designs, text, graphics, videos, educational materials, databases, software, badges, certificates, and compilations—are owned by or licensed to United Martial Arts Group and are protected by intellectual-property laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to access and use the Services for their intended purposes during your membership.

Without written authorization, you may not:

  • copy, reproduce, republish, sell, license, or commercially exploit protected content;
  • remove copyright, trademark, or ownership notices;
  • create derivative works from protected materials;
  • reverse engineer or interfere with website software;
  • use our trademarks in a domain name, business name, advertisement, or social-media identifier;
  • suggest an unauthorized sponsorship or endorsement; or
  • use protected content to train or develop an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system.

Authorized members may display designated membership badges only in accordance with our current credential and brand guidelines.

15. Member Content

You retain ownership of material you submit, including profile information, photographs, biographies, school information, articles, comments, and event information (“Member Content”).

You grant United Martial Arts Group a worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, format, display, and distribute Member Content as reasonably necessary to:

  • operate and administer the Services;
  • provide requested directory listings and membership benefits;
  • publish an event or activity you asked us to list;
  • promote GMAC and its members, subject to applicable permissions; and
  • protect and improve the Services.

This license ends when the content is deleted, except for reasonable backup retention, legal recordkeeping, previously authorized publications, or material that cannot practicably be removed from an already distributed publication.

You represent that:

  • you own or control the necessary rights to the Member Content;
  • the content is accurate and lawful;
  • submitting it does not violate another person’s rights; and
  • you have obtained any necessary permission from persons depicted or identified.

We may remove Member Content that violates these Terms or creates a reasonable legal, safety, reputational, or operational concern.

16. Privacy

Our collection, use, retention, and disclosure of personal information are described in the GMAC Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy should be read together with these Terms.

17. Electronic Communications and Signatures

You consent to receive transactional communications electronically, including:

  • membership confirmations;
  • receipts;
  • renewal and price-change notices;
  • account and security notices;
  • policy updates; and
  • membership or disciplinary communications.

Your electronic acceptance of these Terms and related electronic records satisfies applicable signature and writing requirements.

Marketing communications are subject to your preferences and applicable law. You may unsubscribe from promotional email, but you may still receive nonpromotional communications necessary to administer your account or membership.

You are responsible for keeping your email address and other contact information current.

18. Third-Party Services

The Services may contain links to, integrations with, or content provided by third parties, including payment processors, video platforms, event operators, insurers, advertisers, and member websites.

United Martial Arts Group does not control and is not responsible for independently operated third-party services. Separate terms and privacy practices may apply.

A link, directory listing, advertisement, or integration does not by itself constitute an endorsement or guarantee.

19. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time. Stopping use or deleting your account does not cancel recurring billing unless you complete the cancellation process described in Section 7.

We may suspend or terminate access or membership if we reasonably determine that you:

  • materially violated these Terms or another disclosed policy;
  • failed to pay valid charges;
  • provided materially false or misleading information;
  • created a safety, fraud, security, or legal risk;
  • misused GMAC credentials or intellectual property; or
  • engaged in conduct materially harmful to United Martial Arts Group, GMAC, members, students, participants, or the public.

When reasonably practicable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to respond before imposing a disciplinary termination. We may impose an immediate interim suspension when reasonably necessary to address a safety, fraud, legal, or security concern.

Termination does not eliminate obligations or liabilities that arose before termination.

Provisions that by their nature should survive—including payment obligations, intellectual-property provisions, disclaimers, liability limitations, indemnification, and dispute provisions—will survive termination.

20. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”

UNITED MARTIAL ARTS GROUP DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE FROM HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT INFORMATION PROVIDED BY MEMBERS OR THIRD PARTIES WILL BE ACCURATE.

WE DO NOT WARRANT OR GUARANTEE THE CONDUCT, CHARACTER, QUALIFICATIONS, SERVICES, SAFETY, OR LEGAL COMPLIANCE OF ANY MEMBER, SCHOOL, INSTRUCTOR, OFFICIAL, PROMOTER, EVENT, OR THIRD PARTY.

Nothing in this section excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

21. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, UNITED MARTIAL ARTS GROUP LLC AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES, A MEMBERSHIP, OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:

  • the amount you paid to United Martial Arts Group during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
  • one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions or limitations. In those jurisdictions, these provisions apply only to the extent permitted by law.

22. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless United Martial Arts Group LLC and its owners, officers, managers, employees, volunteers, contractors, and agents from third-party claims, damages, judgments, liabilities, and reasonable legal expenses arising from:

  • your material violation of these Terms;
  • your unlawful or unauthorized use of the Services;
  • your Member Content;
  • your misuse of GMAC credentials or intellectual property; or
  • the operation of your school, instruction, event, business, or professional activities.

You are not required to indemnify a protected party for that party’s own negligence, intentional misconduct, or violation of law to the extent such indemnification is prohibited.

23. Informal Dispute Resolution

Before filing a lawsuit or arbitration demand, you and United Martial Arts Group agree to provide written notice describing the dispute, supporting facts, and requested relief.

The receiving party will have 30 days to attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute.

Either party may seek urgent injunctive relief when reasonably necessary to prevent immediate or irreparable harm.

24. Binding Arbitration and Class-Action Waiver

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.

Except for matters eligible for small-claims court, requests for temporary or preliminary injunctive relief, and claims concerning infringement or misuse of intellectual-property rights, disputes arising from or relating to these Terms, a GMAC membership, or the Services will be resolved by binding individual arbitration.

The Federal Arbitration Act governs this arbitration provision. Arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association under the rules applicable to the dispute. If the American Arbitration Association is unavailable, a court of competent jurisdiction may appoint a substitute administrator.

Unless the parties agree otherwise, arbitration will take place remotely, through written submissions, or in Glynn County, Georgia, in a manner reasonably appropriate to the amount and complexity of the dispute.

The arbitrator may award any individual remedy that would be available in court but may not consolidate claims or preside over a class, collective, or representative proceeding.

YOU AND UNITED MARTIAL ARTS GROUP WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND AGREE TO BRING CLAIMS ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR MEMBER OF A CLASS, COLLECTIVE, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.

You may opt out of arbitration by sending written notice to info@gmacglobal.org within 30 days after first accepting these Terms. The notice must include your name, account email, mailing address, and a clear statement that you elect to opt out of arbitration.

Opting out of arbitration will not affect your membership.

If a court determines that the class-action waiver is unenforceable for a particular claim or remedy, that claim or remedy will be decided by a court after all arbitrable matters have been resolved.

25. Governing Law and Courts

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where federal law applies.

For a dispute not subject to arbitration, you and United Martial Arts Group consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in or serving Glynn County, Georgia.

This choice of law and forum does not deprive a consumer of a mandatory protection provided by the law of the consumer’s place of residence.

26. Changes to the Services or These Terms

We may modify the Services or these Terms from time to time.

If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will provide reasonable advance notice by email, through the Services, or by another appropriate method. The notice will state when the change becomes effective.

A change will not retroactively alter an existing dispute. When applicable law requires affirmative consent, we will obtain that consent before the change becomes effective.

Continued use after the effective date of a properly disclosed change constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services and cancel future renewal before the applicable renewal date.

27. General Provisions

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, checkout disclosures, and any expressly incorporated policy constitute the entire agreement concerning the Services.

An event, certification program, or other service may have additional terms. If additional terms conflict with these Terms, the terms specifically applicable to that service will control.

Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. United Martial Arts Group may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, reorganization, sale of assets, or transfer of the Services, provided the assignment does not materially reduce mandatory consumer rights.

If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain effective.

Section headings are for convenience only. The word “including” means “including without limitation.”
