This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to memberships purchased from United Martial Arts Group LLC, a Georgia limited liability company operating the Global Martial Arts Council membership program (“GMAC,” “United Martial Arts Group,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), through www.memberships.gmacglobal.org.
This policy forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Initial Membership Purchases
You may request a refund of your initial membership dues within 14 calendar days after the original purchase date.
To qualify for a refund, you must submit the request within the 14-day period and must not have received or used a substantial, personalized, or nonrecoverable membership benefit.
A refund may be denied if, before requesting it, you have:
- used, displayed, or distributed a GMAC membership credential, certificate, seal, or digital badge;
- received a personalized certificate, credential, recognition, evaluation, or similar service;
- attended or participated in a members-only event or program;
- downloaded or substantially accessed restricted materials;
- received a public directory listing or other promotional benefit that cannot reasonably be reversed;
- received a membership discount or other financial benefit exceeding the amount requested for refund; or
- otherwise received a substantial nonrecoverable membership benefit.
If only part of the membership benefit has been used, United Martial Arts Group may, where permitted by law, issue a reasonable partial refund reflecting the unused portion.
2. Membership Renewal Charges
Membership renewal charges are generally nonrefundable after the renewal date.
You are responsible for canceling automatic renewal before your next scheduled renewal charge. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not ordinarily reverse a renewal charge that has already been processed.
United Martial Arts Group may issue a refund or account credit for a renewal charge when:
- the charge resulted from a billing error;
- you completed a timely cancellation that was not properly processed;
- the charge was unauthorized;
- the membership benefit was not provided;
- applicable law requires a refund; or
- United Martial Arts Group determines that exceptional circumstances justify one.
Failure to use a membership or access membership benefits does not, by itself, qualify a renewal charge for a refund.
3. How to Cancel Automatic Renewal
You may cancel automatic renewal:
- by emailing info@gmacglobal.org.
Your cancellation must be completed before the next renewal charge to prevent that charge.
After cancellation:
- future renewal charges will stop;
- you should receive a cancellation confirmation;
- your membership will generally remain active through the end of the current paid term; and
- amounts already paid remain subject to this Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Deleting your account, removing a payment method, allowing a payment card to expire, or stopping use of the Services does not by itself cancel automatic renewal.
If you do not receive a cancellation confirmation, contact us promptly.
4. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, email info@gmacglobal.org with the subject line “Refund Request.”
Include:
- your full name;
- the email address associated with your account;
- your membership number, if available;
- the transaction date;
- the amount charged;
- the reason for the request; and
- any relevant cancellation confirmation or supporting information.
Do not send a complete payment-card number, security code, bank-account number, password, or other sensitive financial information by email.
We may request additional information reasonably necessary to locate the transaction and verify your identity.
5. Refund Decisions and Processing
We will review refund requests in good faith and ordinarily respond within 10 business days after receiving the information needed to evaluate the request.
Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method. We may use another lawful refund method when the original method is unavailable.
After we issue a refund, your bank or payment provider may require additional time to post the credit. United Martial Arts Group does not control third-party processing times.
Refunds will be issued in the original transaction currency unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing. Currency-conversion charges, bank fees, and other third-party fees may not be refundable.
If a full refund is issued, the related membership and its benefits may be terminated immediately. Associated credentials, directory listings, badges, certificates, and access rights may be deactivated or revoked.
6. Promotional, Discounted, and Gift Memberships
Refunds for promotional or discounted memberships will not exceed the amount actually paid.
A free membership, complimentary benefit, or fully discounted membership has no cash value and is not refundable.
For a gift membership:
- a refund will ordinarily be issued only to the original purchaser;
- the refund period begins on the original purchase date; and
- use of the membership by the recipient may affect refund eligibility.
7. Events, Certifications, Merchandise, and Other Purchases
This policy applies to membership dues only.
Events, tournaments, seminars, certification services, examinations, merchandise, sponsorships, advertisements, donations, and other purchases may have separate cancellation and refund terms disclosed at the time of purchase.
If no separate policy is provided, contact us before purchasing if you need information about cancellation or refund eligibility.
8. Chargebacks and Billing Disputes
If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact us promptly so we can investigate.
You should not use a chargeback as a substitute for the refund-request process in an ordinary billing disagreement. Nothing in this policy limits your lawful right to dispute an unauthorized or erroneous charge with your bank or payment provider.
Submitting knowingly false information in connection with a refund or chargeback may result in suspension or termination of membership and other remedies permitted by law.
9. Nonwaivable Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy limits a refund, cancellation, cooling-off, or consumer-protection right that cannot lawfully be waived.
If applicable law gives you greater rights than this policy, the applicable law controls.
10. Changes to This Policy
United Martial Arts Group may update this policy from time to time.
A change will not retroactively reduce your rights concerning a transaction completed before the change became effective. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
